Organization at a glance

Jiboner Pothe Alo is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Gazipur district of Bangladesh. The organization was established in 2009. Being started involving 18 persons with disabilities with support from its Own initiatives, now the organization has a total of 173 members; among them, 86 and 87 are female. The organization implements its activities, ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities.

According to the organization's bylaws, there are 27 members in its General Committee, and seven members are in the Executive Committee. The staff and volunteers implement the organizational activities following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of the men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with supports from government and non-government organizations.

Besides, the organization is striving to partner with mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity building and technical assistance.
